The US Virgin Islands?

Are the US Virgin Islands as pretty and fun as Jamaica or the Grand Cayman. We were planning to go to Jamaica but my girlfriend decided she is not comfortable with that. So I thought about taking her to St. Thomas instead. It seems to be a reasonably priced place to go and pretty. Anyone that has been there and Jamaica both it would be great to hear how they compare.
